Meet Our Founder

     My name is Sue Vazzana and I am the founder of Celezzana, Inc.  I have always had fair and sensitive skin so I was always very careful with what skincare products I used. In my early 50's, I had a health challenge, thyroid cancer, which required surgery and radioactive iodine treatment.  After this treatment, I developed multiple autoimmune diseases including fibromyalgia.  This caused sensitivities to most medications and I became hypersensitive to smells.  Menopause hit shortly thereafter bringing its own special skin issues and hormonal challenges.  I decided I needed to dramatically change my lifestyle in an attempt to deal with these challenges, so I made dietary and environmental changes.  Dietary changes included raw food diets, growing my own food, veganism (though I was a vegetarian most of my life), and other trends I discovered.  Environmental changes included infrared sauna, detoxing, rebounding, meditation, and removing toxins from my environment to name a few.  In all my research into removing toxins, I realized that all my skincare products included ingredients that were toxic or not healthy.  My moisturizers, scrubs, and even soaps were loaded with chemicals that were unhealthy.  Many were endocrine disruptors or carcinogens and I did not want to use products containing these ingredients anymore.  

    I decided I needed a change so I started making simple bath scrubs with all organic ingredients and loved them.  I wanted to go farther, so i decided to take courses on skincare formulation.  I learned how to make all types of skincare such as emulsions, lotions, and toners.  I learned about different natural ingredients and how they affect the skin.  It started a three year educational journey.  I learned, researched, and made formulations. I tested them and was getting ready to launch my first product when....my home was hit and severely damaged by Hurricane Ian.  This sidetracked my business for about two years while we repaired our home and I got back on track.  I didn't want to give up on my business but it had to be put aside during this time.  Once this challenge was behind me, I had a renewed purpose and started to again formulate and enjoy it all over again.  

     My mother has been a great inspiration for my business and company.  The business name is based on her name.  Her first name, Celeste, means heavenly which is why our skincare is heavenly inspired.  My mom's philosophy with skincare was "less is more" as she used only a few products.  She had healthy looking skin until the day she died at over 102!
